Job Descriptions and Application:
Lift Operations: (must be 18 or older) Lift operators are tasked to operate both the chairlift and the beginner lift. A typical lift operator shift is 3 to 9 on the weekdays and 9 to 3 and 2 to 10 on the weekends. Lift Operators must have excellent social skills and the physical ability to assist guests on and off the lift.
Tube Park Operations: (must be 18 or older) Tube park operators work on a rotational base either loading the lift, unloading the lift, sending guests down the tube lanes, or working the base of the tube park by assisting guests off their tubes. A typical lift operator shift is 3 to 9 on the weekdays and 9 to 3 and 2 to 10 on the weekends. Tube Park Operations staff must have excellent communication skills as they interact with customers all day.
Rental Shop Technicians: (must be 16 or older) Rental Shop Technicians have a variety of different tasks ranging from assisting first-time customers to be fitted with boots and skis to tuning equipment. A typical shift is 3 to 9 on the weekdays and 9 to 3 and 2 to 10 on the weekends. Rental Shop staff must have excellent communication skills as they are one of the first employees a guest encounters.
Desk and/or Ticket Sales: (must be 16 or older) Desk workers may perform a variety of tasks ranging from ticket sales in the lodge to selling food in the warming hut. A typical desk shift is 3 to 9 on the weekdays and 9 to 3 and 2 to 10 on the weekends. Desk staff must have excellent communication skills as they are one of the first employees a guest encounters. These staff members must also be quick and accurate with simple math and must have good handwriting.
Kitchen Staff: (must be 18 or older) Kitchen staff is one of the most rigorous jobs at Mount Pleasant. Our kitchen staff is expected to prepare food and meals in a timely manner. A typical kitchen staff shift is 3 to 9 on the weekdays and 9 to 3 and 2 to 10 on the weekends but may be irregular as kitchen business varies. Kitchen staff must have excellent communication skills as they interact with guests frequently. The kitchen staff must possess an understanding of how a busy kitchen works and be very clean and organized.
Ski and Snowboard Instructors: (must be 15 or older) Ski and Snowboard Instructors have the most important job on the mountain. They are the face of Mount Pleasant and it is their job to educate the first-time skier or snowboarder. Ski and Snowboard Instructors work a complex schedule. They are called upon as needed but will have a set schedule for the majority of the season that will be determined in January. Ski and Snowboard instructors must have excellent skills on the hill, but most importantly stellar communication skills.
Snowmaking: (must be 18 or older) Snowmakers are the key to our success. A good snowmaker is mechanically inclined as well as physically fit, and able to work throughout the night. Snowmakers tend to work long and irregular hours, but it has been said it is the most rewarding job on the hill!
